Accessibility

Last updated September 25, 2026

Vehicare should work however you use your iPhone, iPad or Mac. This page says what works with which accessibility features, what doesn’t yet, and how to tell me when something gets in your way.

What was tested

Everything on this page was checked by hand on an iPhone, an iPad and a Mac, through what you do most in Vehicare: adding a vehicle, importing an invoice, checking and saving the visit it fills in, and reading a vehicle’s history. Apple’s accessibility audit also runs on the main screens with every build.

Vehicare has no video or sound, so there is nothing to caption or describe.

VoiceOver

On iPhone, iPad and Mac:

  • Every button, field and picture that matters has a name. Decorative ones stay silent.
  • A vehicle’s summary is read as whole sentences, and amounts are read in full, not as “$1.2K”.
  • Vehicles, workshops and visits carry their actions — edit, import an invoice, look at the invoice, delete — in the rotor, so nothing needs a swipe or a long press.
  • Before you save an imported visit, move to any detail and VoiceOver reads the line of the invoice it came from, or tells you it wasn’t found.
  • The cost and odometer charts give each year’s full amount and each full reading, and play as Audio Graphs.
  • On iPhone, the rotor moves through a vehicle’s or a workshop’s visits year by year.

Voice Control

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, every control answers to the words written on it, so you can say “Tap” and what you see. Buttons that show only a symbol still have a name you can say, and “Show names” lists them all. You can dictate into every field.

Keyboard and switches

Full Keyboard Access and Switch Control reach every control on iPhone, iPad and Mac. On a Mac, the menu bar has keyboard shortcuts for the common commands.

Larger text

On iPhone and iPad, Vehicare follows your text size all the way to the largest accessibility sizes. What sits side by side at the usual sizes stacks into a single column, so no text is cut off.

Display and motion

  • Dark Mode throughout.
  • With Increase Contrast, the app’s orange turns darker.
  • With Reduce Motion, the animation shown while an invoice is read pulses in place instead of turning.
  • With Reduce Transparency, the controls drawn over an invoice become solid.
  • Nothing is shown by color alone: every status also has a word or a shape.

What’s not there yet

  • In Dark Mode, the white title on the app’s orange buttons has a contrast ratio of 3.1:1. That is enough for large or bold text, but short of the 4.5:1 recommended for smaller text.
  • Moving through visits year by year with the rotor is on iPhone only.

Something in your way?

Tell me which device you use, which accessibility features are on, and what you were trying to do. I read every message, and I treat these as bugs.
