Terms of Service
Last updated September 27, 2026
These terms cover the Vehicare app, on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and this website. I’ve kept them short and plain. By using Vehicare, you agree to them.
Who makes Vehicare
Vehicare is made by me, Pascal Bourque, an independent developer. You can write to me at the address at the bottom of this page.
Your license to the app
Vehicare is licensed to you, not sold. The license is Apple’s standard agreement for apps from the App Store, and these terms add to it. Where the two disagree about the app, Apple’s agreement wins.
Purchases
Vehicare is free for your first vehicle. A single in-app purchase unlocks every vehicle and export, and removes the ads. You pay once; it’s not a subscription.
The App Store handles the payment. Refunds are Apple’s to give, and you ask for one on Apple’s Report a Problem page.
Check what Vehicare reads
Vehicare reads invoices automatically, and it can read them wrong. You check every visit before it’s saved, and you can change anything in it.
What’s due next is worked out from your invoices and how much you drive. It’s a reminder, not a mechanic’s advice: follow your vehicle maker’s maintenance schedule and your mechanic’s recommendations, and don’t rely on Vehicare for anything that affects your safety.
Vehicle details looked up from a VIN come from CarAPI, and they can be incomplete or wrong.
Your data
What you create in Vehicare is stored in your own iCloud account, under Apple’s iCloud terms. Keeping that account is up to you, and Settings ▸ Data makes a backup whenever you want one. The Privacy Policy says exactly what goes where.
Beta versions
Beta versions, through TestFlight, are unfinished: they can have bugs, and a feature can change or go away before the release. Apple’s TestFlight terms apply to them too.
What you tell me about a beta, and any invoice you choose to send me, I use only to make Vehicare better, as the Privacy Policy says.
The free version’s ad card
The card in the free version shows another developer’s app, picked by Kickstart Exchange. That app, and anything you do with it, is between you and its developer.
Using Vehicare fairly
Vehicle lookups go through my server at vehicare.app, and each one costs me. The server is there for the app: don’t query it any other way, automate requests to it, or resell what it returns.
Don’t use Vehicare or this website to break the law or to harm anyone.
This website
The text, images and screenshots on this website are mine. You’re welcome to link to any page and to quote from it. Vehicle makers’ names and logos belong to their owners, and are shown only to identify vehicles.
No warranty, and limits
I work to make Vehicare right, but as far as the law allows, it comes as it is, with no promise that it’s free of errors or always available.
As far as the law allows, I’m not responsible for indirect losses, such as a missed service or a decision made from what Vehicare showed, and what I owe you is limited to what you paid for Vehicare.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live, including Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Using Vehicare after that means you accept it.
